Tumbling

TUMBLING

Classes For All Ages & Skill Levels

Tumbling specifically refers to the practice of skills and techniques performed on the floor or trampoline. It focuses on developing strength, flexibility, and coordination through skills such as flips, handsprings, and cartwheels. Tumbling is a great choice for those who love flips but prefer not to engage in the broader apparatus-based gymnastics training. Additionally, tumbling classes are a great add-on for all of the cheerleaders working on tumbling skills.

Pre-School Tumbling is designed for our youngest athletes to explore movement, build confidence, and develop basic coordination in a fun and encouraging environment. Through games, obstacle courses, music, and age-appropriate activities, athletes will be introduced to foundational skills such as forward rolls, bridges, handstands, jumps, balance exercises, and body awareness. Our focus is creating a positive first gym experience where children can learn, play, and grow at their own pace while developing important social and listening skills.

Goal: Athletes will develop confidence, coordination, and a love for movement while building the foundational skills needed for future recreational tumbling classes.

Beginner Tumbling focuses on introducing athletes to the fundamental skills required for long-term success in cheerleading and tumbling. Athletes will develop proper technique for forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, round-offs, bridges, kickovers, jumps, and introductory strength and flexibility training. Coaches emphasize body control, safe progressions, and consistent execution while building confidence and athleticism.

Goal: Athletes will master the foundational skills necessary to begin working toward back walkovers, front walkovers, and Level 1 Tumbling skills.

Training follows progressive skill-building methods commonly found in leading all-star cheer programs and focuses heavily on execution and consistency.

Athletes will work on back handsprings, series back handsprings, front handsprings, round-off back handsprings, jumps-to-tumbling connections, and advanced strength and conditioning. Special attention is placed on proper technique, power generation, body awareness, and execution standards consistent with modern cheerleading score sheets.

Goal: Athletes will consistently perform strong standing and running back handsprings while preparing for advanced tumbling such as tucks, layouts, and Level 3 Tumbling.

Prior Experience Recommendation:
